Traces | Vicki Ambery-Smith

London Craft Week 2024

Distilling our personal connections with buildings into wearable art, Vicki Ambery-Smith’s jewellery miniaturises icons of the city’s skyline and puts a whimsical spin on the familiar in gold and silver. She has long been fascinated by architecture and each piece is based on close observation, manipulating the dimensions of the building in trompe-l'œil effect to capture its essence.

Always inspired by London, Vicki has made a number of pieces that celebrate the city's vibrant mix of ancient and contemporary. Her work is internationally acclaimed and is housed in public and private collections across the globe, including the V&A and the Los Angeles Museum of Contemporary Art.

Vicki's work compresses complex associations into something that can be worn on the finger, in the ear ... it consummately continues this tradition of giving exquisite form to our personal and collective architectural imagination.
